Senior politicians in Parliament are known as?

Frontbenchers are the senior politicians who sit on the front benches and hold ministerial or shadow ministerial roles, leading on policy for their party in debates and in government or opposition. This distinguishes them from backbenchers, who are ordinary MPs without those posts. Ministers are a subset of frontbenchers—the government’s senior spokespeople and department heads—while whips are mainly responsible for party discipline and attendance, not the broader senior leadership.
