Which city is the capital of Northern Ireland?

Belfast is the capital city of Northern Ireland. Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom, and the government for the region—where the Northern Ireland Assembly and Executive meet—is based in Belfast. Dublin, by contrast, is the capital of the Republic of Ireland, a separate country. Londonderry (Derry) is a major city in Northern Ireland but not the capital, and Newry is another city in the region. So Belfast is the correct choice because it functions as the political and administrative center of Northern Ireland.
