Chequers is the official country residence of the Prime Minister. The question tests the idea that the PM has different bases: a London base for daily work and a separate country house for retreats. Chequers, located in Buckinghamshire, is set aside as a country retreat for the Prime Minister and their family, used for weekends, official entertaining, and meetings away from the capital. Downing Street is the PM’s official London residence and office, while Buckingham Palace is the monarch’s residence. The Treasury is a government department, not a residence. So Chequers fits the description of the official country residence.
